Join us for our Oasis countdown!
Oasis countdown is on! Our next cruise is a 7 night Western Caribbean departing on May 21, 2016. This cruise will be without the kids which we haven’t done in a few years. I think I enjoy planning nearly as much as the actual cruise! I am always checking for a better price, looking for recent information on the cruise ship and reading reviews.
We will be flying Delta to Fort Lauderdale the morning of embarkation. This will be the first time we have flown the day of the cruise so hoping everything goes well. We are leaving at 6 am and will arrive at 10:30 am with a quick stop in Atlanta. We usually try to arrive to the pier around 10 so we can be one of the first on the ship. This time we are looking forward to getting to the pier, checking in, walking right onto the ship and having a drink in hand shortly before the 1 pm time the cabins are available. In the past it has been such a hassle to lug around our carry-ons, especially in the packed Windjammer (buffet) so being able to take our bags directly to our cabin will be a nice change.
This will be our first time on a ship as large as the Oasis. We have cabin 10727 which is a boardwalk balcony on deck 10. We chose this specific cabin for the views of the boardwalk and Aqua Theater, and still be able to see the ocean. Another reason I like this cabin is that it has the bed next to the balcony. These cabins alternate between having the bed next to the closet and having it next to the balcony. I like having the couch next to the closet for a couple of reasons. Not only is it easier to access the closet but it is also much easier for room service to bring in the tray when they don’t need to slide around the bed to get to the table.
